Sexual dysfunctions are classified into four categories: sexual desire disorders, sexual arousal disorders, orgasm disorders, and sexual pain disorders.
What is sexual desire disorder?
A sexual desire disorder can be caused when there is a decrease in estrogen for women or testosterone for men. Other causes could be aging, loss of energy, or even pregnancies.

What is a sexual arousal disorders?
This disorder is usually referred to as frigidity for women and impotency for men. Most people no longer use these terms, but they are the basic description. In men the most common form is erectile dysfunction; in women this is basically lack of sexual desire or arousal for the other partner. These conditions in men are primarily physical and can be treated with drugs such as Viagra. Male erectile dysfunction is hardly ever emotional unless there is a lacking of attractiveness to the other partner; this is known as sexual desire disorder.
What is an orgasm disorder?
This disorder occurs when there is a delay or absence in the orgasm after a regular period of sexual excitement. This dysfunction can occur in both men and women, and SSRI antidepressants are usually to blame.
What are sexual pain disorders?
This disorder occurs most often in women. It usual has to do with vaginal dryness or vaginal muscle spasms. They are known as dysareunia and vaginismus. Poor lubrication is usually to blame for most of women's sexual dysfunctions, causes can be anywhere from pregnancy to normal hormonal changes. This condition hardly ever effects men, but it potentially can.
